+ “Sometimes I get emotional over fonts” -@kanyewest

You’re all such passionate, opinionated and visually sensitive people. So I’m hesitant to bring up the most pressing political issue of the week: the new democrats.org logo.

It’s incredibly simple. It darlingly uses two shades of blue. It’s perfect for Facebook and Twitter. Something about it makes me want to ride a subway.

Discuss. But take a break if necessary. Don’t say anything you might regret.

+ “God worried that Sarah Palin appeared too dumb. And then he created Christine O’Donnell.” -@BorowitzReport

Anti-masturbation evolution skeptic Christine O’Donnell won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware. What does it mean for the November election? More importantly, how does it feel to agree with Karl Rove?

Yeah, let that sink in for a while. I’ll wait.

+ “@ladygaga There is a vote on #DADT next week. Anyone qualified to serve this country should be allowed to do so” -@HarryReid

Life lessons from Gaga: people will finally take your message seriously when you say it in a meat dress.

+ “Independents/GOP: focus. The weakened Leftist party is the pt; it allows unified effort 2 reign in Fed govt’s overreach&protect Constitution” -@SarahPalinUSA

Just kidding. I can’t read it, either.

Ok, first, using tweets for headers is inspired. I love it.

Second, to the most important issue of the week: the new logo. Personally, I love it. I think the logo is young, fresh, and bold. But more importantly, the new website is great! Awesome content, great design… I think it’s a great change.

I think the tweets are officially going to be a thing. All the more incentive to post amazing tweets! (I’m looking at you, Kanye.)

+I LOVE the new logo! It’s simple, it’s classy and it’s going to be easy to replicate for signs and chalking.
+Christine O’Donnell, when asked if she would provide an 8×10 of her in a bikini, said she didn’t care why people voted for her. I don’t see how that meshes with her previous statements . . .
+As much as I hated the meat dress, I did love the Alexander McQueen outfit, and the fact that she brought gay former service members, who were forced out because of DADT, with her.

    • Brendan Campbell says:

OOH!! I didn’t even think about how easy this would be to replicate! I can’t wait to chalk this all over campus!

  3. The logo is great… second day of seeing it brings the realization that it lines up with Dingell’s ‘d’rive and ‘r’everse metaphor, though I do not know how many shifts have the D in a circle.

Potential campaign slogans for the O’Donnell campaign include:

    For All People
    For All ‘Publicans
    For America’s Prospects
    For America’s Protection
    Freedom Against Peril

I would hate to be the person helping to run her campaign.

Cheer’s for the first open thread!!!

At least Harry Reid has the class to @tweet Lady Gaga, rather than Snooki.
