One of the great things I’ve seen after the election is the campaign’s effort to get people to stay involved and organized in their communities to not only help educate the public about the President’s efforts, but also to bring about their own change to issues important to them. That’s why in the next six months, President-elect Obama and his team will be rolling out organizers, believe it or not. From the many surveys they received after the election, they saw that most of the volunteers from the campaign wanted to continue volunteering and stay involved.
Here in Grand Blanc (near Flint, whoo!), we’ve already started on getting our group together (Saturday was the third meeting, I believe?). In any case, since I was in town, I was able to attend, listen, and catch up with many of the familiar faces from the campaign. I was impressed with the organization of the meeting and am really looking forward to seeing how things progress in Genesee County. There was a lot of energized people there… and especially in our area, we’re going to need that! And the fact that meetings like this were occurring all across the nation? Pretty exciting stuff.

Is that gate supposed to resemble Auschwitz??
Danny, have you ever actually seen Auschwitz? That’s not a gate anyways, its just an arch. I have always said this, but I propose a field trip to Flint… it would do us all some good.
Both my parents are from Flint. Josh and I could lead the tour.
“To your right is Perani Arena and to your left you can see a crack house.”
My dad still calls it the IMA.
That’s actually the arch over that historic cobblestone road smack dab in downtown.
Field trip? How fun!
