College Democrats present 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast with Congressman Dingell
On Saturday, April 18, the College Democrats at the University of Michigan will hold the 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast with special guests Congressman John Dingell and Debbie Dingell. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Arbor Brewing Company in Ann Arbor.
For four years, the College Democrats have been proud to partner with Congressman Dingell and Arbor Brewing Company for this annual fundraiser. This year, the College Democrats also welcome the Washtenaw County Democrats, 15th Congressional District Democrats, and Speaker Pro-tempore Pam Byrnes as event sponsors.
“The Pancake Breakfast is an essential event for our organization,” said Tom Duvall, vice chair of the College Democrats. “Each year, the Pancake Breakfast forms a bridge between the College Democrats and the greater Ann Arbor Community.”
While the College Democrats are known for working with student voters on the University of Michigan campus, the organization also has strong ties to the greater Ann Arbor community.
During the 2008 election, the College Democrats traveled as close as Saline and as far as Marquette to canvass and phone-bank for Democratic candidates. Following the election, the group committed itself to advocacy, education, and service. This semester, the College Democrats have volunteered for numerous local groups, including 826 Michigan, Meals on Wheels, and Focus Hope.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the efforts of the College Democrats during the coming academic year. This Pancake Breakfast is one of the most vital fundraising opportunities for the College Democrats.
Tickets for the Pancake Breakfast are available online (at umichdems.com) and at Arbor Brewing Company the day of the event. Student tickets will be available for $5. Community member tickets are available for $15 per person or $25 per couple. Children 12 and under will be admitted for free.
