Blagojevich is out. Score. However, more work still needs to be done to disocciate his name from the state. I’m talking about those obnoxious open-tollway signs. If you have ever driven on the Illinois tollways, you know what I’m talking about. When Blagojevich was in office, the Illinois Tollway system opened highways that didn’t require drivers to stop to pay the tolls. Instead, they could simply drive at the normal expressway speed of 55-65 mph. This was a great idea, so Blagojevich decided politically profitize on it by erecting signs all over the state promoting the system and, more importantly, that he was the governor when the open-tollways were added. However, he really didn’t contribute much to the project. He’s just so arrogant that he felt the need to put his name all over the state. The total cost of these unnecessary political propoganda props was $480,000. Let me repeat: $480,000. FOR SIGNS!!!! Not only is Gov. Pat Quinn busy this weekend trying to clear the state of the mess Blagojevich has made, but the highway maintenance staff is trying to do the same.
