Mark Chou's Take: Obama Hosts Seder…Secret Jew?

Last night President Obama did a White House first by hosting a Passover Seder dinner for the Jewish holiday. Isn’t it crazy to think that no President before him had ever done such a thing? Clinton didn’t. Neither Bush did. Obama was the FIRST. However, two of Obama’s highest profile Jewish staffers didn’t attend the Seder: Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Strategist David Axelrod. Anyway, that’s still pretty cool that Obama did that. He has been really goingo ut of his way to open up the White House to people of all backgrounds. It is also somewhat ironic that Obama was once accused of being a secret Muslim, and now he’s hosting a Jewish dinner. Let’s see what the Republicans say about him now. Keep it up, Barack. Let's call Henry Waxman next!

According to this article thrown at me via the webmasters at www.yahoo.com (yes, I realize it is not a great source of news and yes, I STILL have a yahoo email address.) Republican Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen hung up on President-elect Obama and then Rahm Emanuel immediately after convinced that she was being pranked phone called by a radio station. My favorite part of the article is the “quote” of Emanuel’s response… it’s pretty on par with the SNL video we recently saw (or at least that’s what I’m reading into it.) Finally, after being contacted by another Representative (Howard Berman – D-California) she was convinced of the phone call’s legitimacy and allowed herself to believe she was not being Punk’D. There are no sources reporting on whether or not Obama and Emanuel were braiding one another’s hair or gossiping during the phone call.
