Outsourced: Your Educational Update
The Tamil Tigers have been in the news lately, and not gonna lie, my knowledge about them and the civil war going on in Sri Lanka is woefully inadequate. All I knew was that M.I.A.’s father, upon returning to Sri Lanka, became a political activist under the name “Arular” (also the name of her first album). Back in Sri Lanka, he became involved in the movement for the creation of a Tamil Eelam. Eelam, as I just found out, is the Tamil name for Sri Lanka. Here’s a summary of what I learned.

John McCain promises war for the rest of the century
This video is terrifying. We don’t want Obama as president, we need him as president. Otherwise, the entire world must face the dire consequences or war and destruction. Do we want the next Hiroshima and Nagasaki to be in the United States? It’s in our hands. I’m not authorized to add media but here is the link. Please watch it and pass it along.
**If video is not working, here’s a direct link.
On another note, I distinctly remember Jon Stewart singing “Bomb Iran” as a parody to the beach boys song about 2 years ago. It’s not appropriate for a republican politician to make the same jokes as a liberal comedian. Perhaps this video was what John McCain planned on using as his war logic.

The Viral Candidate
I know this was just a gaffe. I also know that the McCain Campaign will cleverly make this disappear in about 3 days.
BUT, can you imagine the fallout if a Democrat had said something so flippant about our troops? Can you imagine the media onslaught focusing on how unpatriotic the Democratic Candidate is?
I hope McCain continues on his current course… The Viral Candidate
So if it's Gay Rape is it Still OK?
The military recruited significantly more felons in 2007 than it did in 2006 under pressure to meet the needs imposed by Iraq and Afghanistan. At a time when it remains illegal for gays and lesbians to openly serve in the military under the justification that they might undermine morale, the military recruited nine sex-criminals. So let’s review the military’s rules on sexuality: rape – good, consensual homosexual sex – bad, lying about consensual homosexual sex – good.
